Cynthia DeBenedetti began studying art at
the age of ten with the marine painter Matt Falk in Redwood City, California.
She earned a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Arizona
and afterwards worked in commercial art and advertising, before continuing
her studies in drawing and painting at the San Francisco Academy of Art.
In 1990, Cynthia began drawing and painting landscapes on location
in California. By that point, she had studied with the following nationally
recognized artists: Ron Arthaud, Tom Browning, Cedric Egeli, Bob Gerbracht,
Ted Goerschner, Anita Hampton, Hui Han Liu, Kevin Macpherson, Joseph
Mendez, Craig Nelson, Joyce Pike, Camille Prezwodek, Morgan Samuel Price,
Charles Sovek, Van Waldron, Jove Wang, and Edward Norton Ward. Painting
on location gives her an opportunity to be out in nature and visit beautiful
areas in her native northern California, as well as other nice places,
such as Hawaii.
Cynthia shows her work with the Society of Western Artists and local
art
associations, including Silicon Valley Open Studios.
